Dawn Quinones (Dongin Shin Quinones)

My appreciation of color and shapes began in early childhood and continued through graduation from Seoul National University, College of Fine Art, in Seoul, Korea.

My work was first recognized in Korean National Art Exhibition as well as various Art group shows. This acceptance further inspired me to expand my artistic ambitions and continue my art studies in the United States with nationally well known artists and their workshops.updated 2020-10-23

I continue to expand my artistic expressions by way of water base mix media paintings, many of which awarded at national art shows. Most of my work is inspired by various wondrous forms of Nature which speak to my soul and translate into my art work. It is essential for me to use the inspirational images that flow through me from my mind’s eye rather than study and paint an object in front of me.

My diverse and colorful paintings are statements covering everything from flora and fauna to geometric, from art deco to simple expression of color influenced by hues of the seasons with a contemporary semi-abstract approach, and from textile studies. I also enjoy painting on various kinds of fabric creating one of a kind wearable art.

My goal and ultimate satisfaction is that you, the viewer, enjoy my work as much as I enjoyed creating it.
